Go North East takes Pride in backing northern LGBT festival
The annual Northern Pride festival hit Newcastle this weekend, with thousands of people joining a parade from the Civic Centre.
Proud to be a supporter of the LBGT event, which is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and now in its ninth year, our contribution included sponsoring Pride radio, helping transport passengers in our branded rainbow Quaylink service and participating in the parade.
Joining the festivities on Exhibition Park, which housed a fun fair, stalls and musical performances, were team members Billy Turnbull, Stephen Richardson and many more who proudly raised our ‘Pride in transport, building communities together, celebrating diversity’ banner.
Stephen King, head of marketing and retail at Go North East, said: “We make over 70 million journeys every year, and we want all of our customers to understand how important diversity and inclusion are to us.
“Northern Pride is such a colourful and vibrant event and we love being part of it. Our thanks go to the team who were involved with the planning and attendance to make our contribution so successful.”
