Service changes in North Tyneside from 24 March

From 24 March 2019, there will be changes to some services in North Tyneside.


Coaster 1 & 1A

  • This service will now run via Oxford Street and York Road in Whitley Bay in both directions.
  • No changes to timetable.


Service 19

  • The new link road between Dock Road and North Shields Ferry is now open for buses to use, meaning quicker journeys to the Ferry for journeys on Monday to Saturday daytimes.
  • Minor changes to timetable.
  • View new timetable


CityLink 57

  • After approximately 9pm Monday-Saturday and 7pm on Sundays, service 57 will no longer run between Newcastle and Hadrian Park due to low customer numbers. If you want to travel to Hadrian Park at these times, you will be able to use service 310 instead, which will additionally serve Addington Drive on evening.
  • The service between Newcastle and Wardley is unaffected.
  • There are also minor changes to the timetable on weekday mornings to improve reliability.

Services 309 & 310

  • The timetable on this service will be revised to reflect changes to traffic conditions in North Tyneside.
  • Evening journeys on service 310 will additionally serve Hadrian Park, to replace service 57 in this area.
  • Ahead of 24 March, buses on these services will be refurbished with leather seats. We will also be trialling a 'Feet Seat Zone' on three of the buses.

Nexus Bus K3

  • Due to low customer numbers, this service is being withdrawn by Nexus.
