Get Your Bum on Board for Durham Fringe Festival 2024

With just two weeks until Durham Fringe Festival 2024 kicks off in and around Durham’s City Centre, lively festival performers have teamed up with Go North East, the region’s largest bus operator, to promote their shows and encourage sustainable travel to the event.

Go North East’s cheerful bus driver, John Paul Langelier, and the newly liveried Bums on Board bus were joined by a diverse range of performers in Durham’s ancient Market Square. Among the talents showcased were poetry, comedy, and folk music, creating a buzz of anticipation for the upcoming festival.

Sally Dixon, Festival Manager, said: “This was a fantastic turnout from some of our incredible performers and is just a glimpse of the atmosphere we are aiming to create in and around the city centre during the last week of July.

With 250 shows and 90 performers across 8 venues, this will be our biggest Fringe Festival yet! We're looking forward to welcoming festival goers, performers and our volunteers to the city, and are advising people to focus on public transport travel options. Maximum bus fares are just £2.”

Located in the heart of the city, this event promises a fantastic weekend showcasing some of the best local talent. The festival runs from Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 July, featuring an array of performances including dance, drama, comedy, magic, music, and children/family shows.

Ticket prices for 2024 remain at 2023 prices: £9 per show (£6 concessions), with Family tickets at £20 for 2 adults and up to 2 children. A new Discover ticket offers the chance to enjoy 3 different shows for £20. Special offers on food and drink will also be available at participating venues around the city centre upon presentation of a festival ticket or lanyard.

Visit www.durhamfringe.co.uk for further information or to book tickets.
