Experienced car drivers sought for 15 new jobs
In an effort to recruit more professional coach drivers, Go North East has changed its ‘essential experience criteria’ to attract more people to apply for 15 new jobs.
Previously, anyone interested in becoming a coach driver was required to have professional driving experience and a PCV license to be considered, but this is no longer the case.
Go North East - which operates several UK-wide coach services on behalf of National Express - is currently recruiting for 15 coach drivers and now welcomes applications from experienced car drivers.
National Express will provide Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) licence training to successful candidates, as well as additional company training.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have customer service experience and must have held a full UK or EU/EEA driving licence for at least two years.
John Bell, manager of Go North East’s coaching unit in Chester-le-Street explains more:
“We are offering the chance to work in a great team. Successful candidates will be trained to the highest coaching standards and will be a valued part of the National Express network of drivers.
“Our coach drivers need to be flexible as they will be working away from home, with overnight stays. It is a rewarding job where you drive high-specification coaches and have the opportunity to visit other cities.”
Coach drivers benefit from reduced travel costs on the National Express Network of services for themselves and their family.
There are 15 full-time and part-time coach driver jobs available.
